Okay, I decided to take off one month without weighing in since we were having company throughout July. I also didn't ride my bike much in July, but I did get some exercise out in my garden digging and planting.
I did eat things that I shouldn't have, i.e., birthday cake, sticky buns, chips, etc., but I tried to eat in moderation and not pig out at any time. Overall though, I think I ate normally healthy.
Anyway, I was hesitant to start back up at Weight Watchers and get on the scale, assuming that I had gained weight, but to my pleasant surprise today, I weighed in and lost .2 lbs. I know....it's not much, but at least I didn't gain.....so Woo!Hoo!
So I'm back eating healthy again and I hope on my way to continued weight loss.
What I learned this month:
. To never give up.
. Eat what you like, but in moderation
. Always have fruit on hand for a snack
. Get up and move around every day
. Find low calorie snacks to get you though the day.
See you in a week!

Week 13/14 Weigh-In
Since our move to NJ just over a week ago, I haven't weighed in at Weight Watchers so I thought I better find a meeting in NJ and continue on my weight loss journey. I weighed in today with a loss of 3 lbs......making my total loss 26.8 lbs. They gave me my 25 lb. charm at the meeting.
I really miss my instructor in Salisbury, MD who was so motivating at every meeting. I'm not going to get discouraged because this was my first meeting and I plan to go on Wednesday mornings at 8 am and hopefully there will be a different instructor. Not that my instructor in NJ wasn't nice.....she was......but she couldn't keep the meeting under control, nor did she touch on the important parts of what we were supposed to talk about this week.
WHAT I LEARNED THIS WEEK;
. That it's hard moving to a different town and state (even though we love it down here)
. That while you are unpacking and moving you don't feel like keeping track of your food
. That you can eat cake once in awhile and still lose.
. That all McDonald's make different size cones (they are my 4 point treats)
. That it feels good getting in to my smaller size clothes.
. That I had to bring my bike inside to ride in the mornings since the porch is too hot!
Thanks for all your support! See you next week :)

Week 12 Weigh-in
Well, I've had another loss....not a big one....down .2 lbs., but at least I lost. I've gone every weigh-in with a loss, so I'm happy about that. I haven't been tracking all the time since we have been so busy getting ready to move to NJ Friday, but when I have time, I do track.
WHAT I'VE LEARNED THIS WEEK:
. That 1 Bob Evans pancake is 9 points (oh my!). I ate 1-1/2, which came to 13 points and that was without any butter or syrup....so I will stay away from them for awhile (although I thoroughly enjoyed it while it was in my mouth).
. That the lunch pasta with marinara sauce at Olive Garden is less points than the lunch soup and salad. I think because of the dressing they put on the salad. Anyway, for 7 or 8 points, the pasta is great!
. That restaurants really do give you so much more than you need and I always need a 'doggie bag' now.
. That Wedding buffets don't have much that we can eat.....
. That going to my W.W. meetings motivates me to keep going week to week.
. That I am really going to miss the gang at my Salisbury, MD Weight Watchers meetings.....it's hard to say good-bye.....I was getting so attached. :(
But onward I go......down a total of 23.8 lbs. My goal this week is to get to - 25 lbs. I will weigh in in New Jersey for the first time on Wednesday morning......so stay tuned! :)

Week 11 Weigh-in
I didn't get weighed in last week because I was in NJ and I wasn't ready to start a new WW meeting then, so I waited until today to get weighed in MD.
I lost 2.2 lbs., for a total of 23.6 lbs.- Woo! Hoo! I lost 10% of my weight and I'm not far from losing 25 lbs., so I'm feeing great. The thing that really makes me happy is that I lost consistently every week - that's a real motivator for me!
WHAT I'VE LEARNED THIS WEEK
. That even though you are busy, you can still always find the right thing to eat.
. That the new Brick Oven pizza place we ate at this week was absolutely heaven. Split a small margharita pizza with Leon - thin crust - FAB!
. That it's okay to taste a bite of everyone's food if they offer it - it's better to taste than to crave and go out of control.
. That I can do this to the end and keep doing it for the rest of my life.....I'm eating good and I'm happy.
. That no matter what time of day it is.....get on that bike and ride!!!!
Thanks to all of my supporters!

Week 9 Weigh-In
This week I lost 3.4 pounds for a total of 21.4 pounds.....woo!hoo! I don't know where I'm losing it from though, because I haven't gone down a clothing size yet, but my clothes are fitting much better. I know that I will miss the new friends that I have made in MD at Weight Watchers, but I must move on.
WHAT I'VE LEARNED THIS WEEK:
. Exercise is a key to losing weight.
. That I can't run out of my WW bars....they are a great snack and keep me from cheating.
. That I enjoy a McD cone now and then (4 points)
. That I have a long way to go yet to get to my goal.
. That an UNO's breadstick is 6 points.
See you next week!

Week 8 Weigh In
Woo! Hoo! Down another 3.2 lbs. for a total of 18 pounds so far!!!!
I was kind of worried before I got on the scare this week because I was so busy last week that I didn't track any of my food. I was very aware of everything that I was eating, but I tasted the grandkids' food here and there and had pizza and dessert Sunday for Mattie's Baptism celebration....so I wasn't sure.
I always track everything I eat and I tried to make good choices this week and figured the pizza and dessert were my under my extra points that I get for the week. Anyway....I'm ready for this week. I will get back to tracking to make sure I'm eating correctly.
WHAT I LEARNED THIS WEEK: .
That I can go out to eat to an Italian restaurant and taste everything within moderation.
That Taco Bell's Fresno Chicken Soft Tacos are only 4 points each.
That I'm enjoying eating a lot more variety in vegetables and salads.
To carry my non-fat Italian dressing with me in case the restaurant doesn't have one.
That I love fresh spinach on a turkey sandwich.
That having grandkids around helps burn off lots of calories.
Overall it was a great week......so onward I go towards reaching my goal!!!!!

Weigh-In Week 7
It was a rough week with so much going on, including Easter, but I had a .6 lb. loss today....Woo! Hoo! My total loss so far is 14.8 lbs.
What I'm proud of is that I have lost continuously every week since I started Weight Watchers.....that's an accomplishment for me.....that also keeps me motivated.
WHAT I'VE LEARNED THIS WEEK: That I can taste a small piece of desserts and still stay within my plan. That I can eat Pasta, if I watch my other food intake. That when grandchildren are around, I feel like eating more.

Week Six Weigh-In
Woo! Hoo! Another loss this week of 1.6 pounds!!!! It may seem like it's coming off slow, but I lost 14.2 in 6 weeks...I'm happy about that. I use up most of my points (including my extra points I get each week) and I guess if I saved some I may lose faster, but right now this works for me. Slow and steady wins the race...isn't that what they say.
I don't feel deprived or starving....it's going well.
WHAT I'VE LEARNED THIS WEEK: When going out to eat, aways check points before I go, because ..... again this week I ordered broiled tilapia with crab meat, mushrooms and broccoli, thinking it was low points and when I got home and figured it out, it came to 20 points (I'm allotted 26 for the day). Then I had to use my extra points, which I hate to do on something like that.
This week I've gained more support since my friend, Claudia, joined Weight Watchers and she lost 4.8 pounds her first week - good job Claudia!!
My new motto: "Slow and Steady"!

Week Five Weigh-In
Woo!Hoo! Down another 1.2 pounds!!!!! It got a little harder this week.....I had a semi-binge (eating healthy foods).....just couldn't get enough food in me one day.....so kept snacking throughout the day. Didn't go over my points, but I usually don't do that.
WHAT I LEARNED THIS WEEK: I learned that it will be a long time before I will eat ground beef, ground sirloin, sirloin burger, etc. since the point value is not worth the taste in my mouth. We went to Lone Star on our way home from the shore this weekend and since I haven't had beef all month, I thought I would order their ground sirloin with mushrooms on the side and broccoli. I also got a side salad, so there was no potatoe, butter, etc. Luckily I cut 1/4 of the sirloin burger and gave it to Leon, because when I got home to see how many points was in it, I almost fell off my chair......the ground sirloin came to 27 points. I'm only allowed 26 per day, so I knew I was in trouble. Since I gave Leon 1/4 of it, I counted 20 points, but that even made me sick. I get extra points to use during the week, but what a way to use them up.....that was a big awakening. Ground beef is very high in points because of the fat. I must say though.....it was heaven while I was eating it. But I will forego eating that again for a long while.
While shopping yesterday I found Campbell's Select Soups that were only 2 points for the whole can....Italian Vegetable was one of them and it even has ditalini in it, so I'm excited about that.
Looking forward to a 4 point McD cone is the highlight of my week......ahhhhhhh....so good!
I'm down 12.4 now and I shall continue down my path....so on I go!

Week Four
This week's weigh-in at Weight Watchers brought a 1-1/2 lb. loss. I'm very happy with that.....I'll take it~!
My total loss in one month is 11.2 lbs......I'm at my 5% weight loss, so you see how much more I have to go.
I must say, it is easier this time since my main focus is my health and getting this weight off of my sore knees.
WHAT I'VE LEARNED THIS WEEK: If you are dying for something good, then just have it......just make sure you count your points. We took Kate and grandsons to the Airport Restaurant down at the shore and I wanted a Chicken Cheese Steak. I thought I'd get it and only eat half. I didn't get any oil or mayo on it, and it was so, so good. So good that I finished the whole thing.....YUM! But then I cut way back the rest of the day.....it was worth it.
I am also finding that I am happy with GOOD fruits and air-popped popcorn at night instead of a WW ice cream bar.
What I'm doing is eating alot less.....staying away from Fast Food Restaurants and having healthy snacks in between meals. It's working so I will continue!!!!!

My Third Week
I just arrived home from my third weigh-in at Weight Watchers and I am very happy with my weight loss this week - I'm down 2.4 lbs......for a total of 10 lbs. - Woo! Hoo!
I was a little concerned this week because I only got to ride my bike three times, but I put everything I had into those three bike rides.
Because I wasn't keeping track of everything over the weekend when the kids were down visiting at the shore, I thought I might have gone over my points, but once I got home and figured them out.....I was okay. I did have a small piece of Italian Pound Cake with some strawberries and a tablespoon of lite cool whip (it was heaven), but overall, I ate well.
What I learned this week is that I do like Vegetarian Vegetable Soup (especially since the points are lower than the other soups).......I can sit down to a big meal with my family and be happy with the food that I am eating (I even had fresh Italian bread with some light butter on it - YUM!)........That I can have a tablespoon of bread stuffing and mashed potatoes and still stay within my points........that Weight Watcher's Chocolate Fudge Ice Cream Bars are a great 3 pt. treat at night.
I also invested in a Popcorn Air Popper to save on some points.
Anyway, I feel good....I'm in it for the long haul this time. Thanks for all of your support.

Second Weigh-in
Okay.....I kept off the first 5.8 lbs. that I lost last week and I lost 1.8 this week for a total of 7.6 in two weeks.....Yippee!!!
What I found out this week is that when you eat out...your points really add up. Panera Bread's food is very high in points, including their salads and soups.....so I will try not to go there very often.
Another thing I found out......I thought Ruby Tuesday's cauliflower was low in points, but it's 4 points - that's alot for a vegetable. The green beans are only 1 pt. and the broccoli 2 pts., but if I ate them at home - steamed with no butter, they would be NO POINTS!!!!
I love the Arnolds sandwich thins, which are only 3 pts. and with some oven roasted turkey I can have a great lunch for about 5 pts.....super!
I'm trying to give up diet soda because of all the talk out there about the rats that drink it and get tumors and cancer (I guess that would be a good enough reason - ha!)......but then again they say that's all they fed them and they drank so much. Right now I have maybe one per day, but I'm still trying to give it up. It's hard.
In the meantime, I will keep on the track of reaching my goal.

My First Weigh In
My first weigh in was last Wednesday and I was thrilled to see the scale go down 5.8 pounds. I knew I was doing well and not cheating on my diet and I also rode my stationary bike five times last week, but I don't weigh myself at home so I had no clue what to expect.
Anyway, starting off with such a big weight loss motivated me for this week to continue.
I haven't been tempted by any sweets yet, which is my one big downfall when I am not dieting.
I have really cut back on my quantities of food, as well as introduce many more vegetables and fruits into my diet. I feel much better and can say that I haven't had a headache all week.
Anyway, I have a long, long way to go yet to get to my goal and I will post again on Wednesday after I get weighed.

Tomorrow is my First Weigh In
Okay, the first week wasn't so bad....it was actually very good. I've been keeping track of all my foods and staying within my points and I actually have about 20 extra points left over for the week.
I rode my bike five days this week (30 minutes each day), with the help of my daughter, Kate, who also rides her bike at the same time in NJ, and that alone has made me feel so much better.
I will be back tomorrow to let you know if I lost and how much I lost this first week. Thanks for listening.:)

Happy Fat Tuesday
Okay.....it's official.....I am as of today "The Fat Lady". And since it is Fat Tuesday, the Fat Lady has eaten everything she could get her hands on.
I weigh more today than I have ever weighed in my life.....I'm almost two of me in weight....oh my!
So, I thought it was time I finally got serious about my health and weight, so I re-joined Weight Watchers (probably my 15th time) today with the strong hope and faith that this would be my last time. I am not quitting this time until I get to my goal.
Being overweight has caused much damage to my physical self, one being that I have sleep apnia and now I will be sleeping with a mask and machine every night....real cute! It has also put much stress on my knees, which has caused much pain and has hindered me in what I would like to do physically.
My head doesn't think I'm The Fat Lady.....but the body says otherwise. So, as of tomorrow, I will be eating heatlthy and exercising on my bicycle to try to get rid of half of this lady that's hanging on me. She's really getting to be a burden and I think I need to give her back.
I will keep you posted on my progress and if we happen to cross paths during this year of slicing myself in half, offer me some fruit, some lettuce, some water......but please not sweets, no fries.....
